Open Cell Mass Loaded Vinyl Barrier (MLVB) Decoupler: Open cell MLVB is standard non-reinforced 1lb per square foot barrier (1/8") with a polyurethane open cell foam decoupler (1/4") laminated on one side for a total thickness of 3/8". Typical applications for open cell mass loaded vinyl barrier are retrofit wall applications where the Open Cell Mass Loaded Vinyl is tacked or adhered to the existing sheetrock and another layer of sheetrock is applied over the material. Other applications include enclosures and car audio sound dampening.

Note: Open cell MLVB can be used as a flooring underlayment, but is not recommended.
